The twin towns of Echuca/Moama were each established
by their own convict. The stories of this large inland port are
rich in humour. Echuca/Moama has some of the world's oldest paddle
steamers still in operation. There will be more pictures of this
port and the mighty Murray River.

BRIDGE HOTEL, ECHUCA, (Mid Size)
This very old hotel is a major feature of the riverboat/wharf precinct. It has a colourful history and
operates as a classic hotel. Why not step back in time and become part of Echuca's living history?
CAPTAIN CARLYONS COTTAGE (Mid Size)
This is a tiny cottage on the bank of the Murray river. In the early 1850s Capt Carlyon’s river steamer the “Kelpie” was often moored right at the front gate. The cottage has a long and very colourful history.
P.S. ADELAIDE (Mid Size)
Believed to be the oldest original and operating paddle steamer in the world. The "Adelaide" was built at Barham
on the bank of the Murray River. It began its life as a
logging steamer. Now in semi-retirement it is busy carrying
passengers at Echuca,
P.S. ALEXANDER ARBUTHNOT (Mid Size)
This paddle steamer started its working life as a logging steamer the same as the “Adelaide” Now rebuilt for passenger cruises it is a gracious part of Echuca’s living history.
P.S. PEVENSEY (Mid Size)
Now part of the living history of Echuca the Pevensey is probably best known as the “Philadelphia” that had a role in the Television series “All the Rivers Run”.
