To me Bendigo has always been a beautiful city with a golden history. It is a privilege to be able to portray Bendigo as it was meant to be seen. I pray that the quality of my work can always equal the graciousness of Bendigo's image.

ALEXANDRA FOUNTAIN VERS. 2 (Mid Size)

This picture is loosely based on the Alexandra Fountain, Charing Cross, Bendigo. It is a highly stylised version that shows the full power of the wax pencil medium. This medium is very rare now maybe because it is difficult to master and cannot be erased.

The Fountain on Pall Mall at the foot of View Street is a superb landmark for all who visit Bendigo It was built using mainly Harcourt granite.

This view includes the Shamrock Hotel, Old Post Office Tower, and the War Memorial. This is the beautiful centre of Bendigo city with all of the other main features close by.

BENDIGO TOWN HALL (Mid Size)

This beautiful old building in the centre of Bendigo is in a perfect setting amongst parkland. The gold fossicker? Well, he started it all. The site was a fabulous gold field. 


CAMP HILL SCHOOL (Large)

Officially described as the grandest State School Building in Victoria. It has a heritage listing and is located in Rosalind Park the centre of this beautiful city.

CASCADES (Mid Size)

These cascades were a feature of Bendigo,s Rosalind Park in the 19th century, They then mysteriously disappeared for almost 100 years. The Cascades have recently been excavated and refurbished. 


CENTRAL DEBORAH GOLD MINE (Mid Size)

This central Bendigo landmark is living history. The “Down The Mine” tours are fascinating to all ages. The mining continues despite the fact I have removed some of the sheds that were blocking my view. 


FORTUNA VILLA (Large)

Probably one of the most outstanding examples of “pure self indulgence” architecture. This came from one man’s incredibly wealthy gold mines in the Bendigo field.

The hotel is a classic example of the gracious style and comfort these establishments provided during Bendigo’s golden era. 


HUNTER HOUSE (GREYSTANES) (Mid Size)

Built in 1882 by the hunter family as a townhouse this is a splendid exampleof the wealth Bendigo has enjoyed for many years. It is now an outstanding boutique hotel and conference venue in the centre of this beautiful city. I have removed a few trees to allow a better picture of this lovely old building.

Built in 1882 by the Hunter famuly as a townhouse this is a splendid example of the wealth Bendigo has enjoyed for many years. LAKE WEEROONA BOARDWALK (Mid Size)

The Boardwalk Restaurant was once the Chinese Teahouse. Now it is a beautiful place to spend any time of day. The Chinese contribution to Bendigo is very substantial and continues today. 


MARLBOROUGH HOUSE (Mid Size)

An excellent example of the decorative style of architecture favoured during the golden era of Bendigo. It is now a comfortable Bed & Breakfast with 5 suites close to the heart of Bendigo. 


OLD NATIONAL BANK, PALL MALL (Mid Size)

This building is now a most attractive “Mulley’s Café” The beautiful architecture is an example of how the wealth of local gold has created this city.

An outstanding pair of buildings in the heart of this lovely city. The setting is magic in beautiful parkland. I could not portray these buildings separately.

I have featured the old “Beehive Building” once a vibrant Stock Exchange. Some people would remember Favaloro's café prior to the dispensary. No.26 tram is a “talking tram”.

ROSALIND PARK (Mid Size)

This lovely park is in the centre of a rich area of heritage architecture and a golden history. Near 600 tons of gold were won from this area. 


SACRED HEART CATHEDRAL (Large)

The building of the Cathedral took 82 years. The main tower and spire (284 feet or 86.6 metres high) were completed in March 1977. It is a beautiful building that should be visited by all those who may be interested.

This is the last of the English Gothic cathedrals to be built in this hemisphere. It took 82 years to complete. It is a beautifully proportioned landmark in the centre of Bendigo nearly 300 feet high. 


SCHOOL OF MINES (Mid Size)

Now the Bendigo College of Further Education. In 1856 it was a tiny Mechanic's Institute.

SHAMROCK HOTEL (Mid Size)

This beautiful old hotel is an outstanding example of Bendigo’s golden era . Its colourful history includes “Cobb & Co” who had the largest coverage of any stage coach operator in the world. 


ST MARTIN’S OF MUSKERY (Mid Size)

This bluestone church building is in a beautiful setting a few kms north of Bendigo. Many young people choose to marry here because of its character, and the ambience. 


ST PAUL’S CATHEDRAL (Mid Size)

This building was commenced in 1867 when gold mining was going on all over the city. Originally “The Church of St Paul Sandhurst”, in 1981 it became a Cathedral.
